Purchases I made today!
Read Ether Diver’s round up of Other People's Music. Follow at @etherdiver.bsky.social:
Bought this album from their recommendations:
Warm and fuzzy blend of ambient, IDM and vibed-out explorations of sound and space
Very interesting to hear from the artist about using their Steam Deck to make the album as a disabled artist:
all tracks, and the vast majority of sounds, made with NightRadio’s brilliant hybrid tracker and virtual modular synthesizer SunVox, which I've been using on phones for more than a decade while I've been bedridden, and am now using on my Steam Deck. I will consider myself a successful artist if I can help fellow disabled creatives discover this godsend for serious, relatively-accessible music production that probably runs on whatever you need it to, usually for free!
And then I surfed #BandCampFriday to see who else was posting (that links to "Top", switch to "Latest" to see all the posts coming through)
Found Flamingosis and bought their album from last year, Better Will Come:
I may as well add the bonus of what I bought next week:
I bought Nicholas Burgess’ new album “Re-Animator” on recommendation of @etherdiver.bsky.social’s latest Other People’s Music. “cover albums that really put effort into transforming the original songs while honoring their essence, and this collection nails that.” This is Daughter by Pearl Jam.
Daughter, by Nicholas Burgess
from the album Re-Animator
Here's the track in playable format:
And also Vestige by Thor Speeler:
